Jimbo has a few things I agree with and some I don't. Pretty much the first 4 I agree with, number 5 could care less about as I already check something like 20 sites for info daily, 6 would bog the site down seen it happen before, 7 eh either way doesn't effect me.

Small things that I've noticed that need a bit of tweaking:

When someone sends you a message and you hit reply you have to type in a topic title. It would be cool when you click this it just gives you the original title.

Also why is it you have to be friends to leave a comment, but anyone can send a message? Perhaps a privacy setting could be established to profiles to allow who can and can't comment on your profile?

I think the review section could use a little fine tuning. Like being able to add multiple products to a review like a board and binding combo would be something to consider.

i think instead of a trick tip we should just do a trick of the day thread or banner so each person can have a goal or somethin every day or week. yea week would be better. and we could totally throw down photos and vote on em or something. that could be fun. / interactive. just so when your riding everyones got that trick theyre tryin to get on. for fun. whatdyou think

No Karine...worst ideas ever :) jk! I know it's probably been said before but we could do a video pages linking out to all the teasers/promos on the internet that we find interesting. It's always nice to have some visuals to look at especially during the off-season...you know keep us stoked for the coming season. We could also have a chatroom type thing. I think it's great for advice as you can get immediate feedback instead of waiting for someone to reply of the forum only to have your thread disappear and become buried. Granted it'd be hard unless we have a steady group of people online but it would be fun. We could also have gear previews and comparisons...we'd just need some experienced folk to discuss but it'd be cool as I know I always wonder how this year's model differs from the last and so on.

When season starts we could have a jokey thing about rider of the week based on photos. We can set it up so all the users can vote on their top shot (both serious and not). A good way to get people involved and constantly coming back.

Also an industry news section would be beneficial.

i like the ideas of a video page and fixing the subject line for replying to messages. i also think i would be convenient to have the posts in the talk section divided into subcategories. for now even just a snowboard related section and a random section could work and give it more of a forum feel.

I was imitating Facebook's model, where by default anyone can send you a message but only friends can post on your wall. Might do more fine-grained privacy settings in the future.

A lot of other good ideas in here; I just gotta find the time to build them. Right now I'm working on two main things:

1) making the spots database truly international, because a lot of people have asked for this, and it extends our appeal.

2) adding to the spot page a list of all the snow days for that spot, for two reasons: they're kind of like mini-reviews, so people can learn more about a place they've never been to; and you can see more easily who's been riding at your favorite spot, and maybe meet up with them.

I'm having visions of people stalking me in Summit County this should be interesting.

Some more stuff as I domesticate myself here.
1. I want to be able to update my status from the homepage since I'm already logged in.
2. I think it would be cool if there was a reply link to individual activity feeds instead of going directly to a member's profile page to respond.
3. I still think the traditional message board/forum would be easier to use than the current limited Talk section but then again maybe the site would just end up like any other...
4. There should be a Members Page that lists members...currently, we're really only limited to seeing people who have most recent updates (posts, photos, etc).
5. How about some stickers again? LOL

Once you are done reading a review you have to go back to the beginning & click through reviews all over again to continue.
