Some people like to say its just a myth that the people that vacation here only ride groomers and there's always powder. Its completely true. Making that short drive past Vail is always worth it to go here. Whether you're jibbing the natural features, riding the freshies, slaying the trees, or killing it in their pipes. This resort is fucking money. If I had to ride one resort the rest of my life this one tops the list right next to Mt. Baker.
Where else can you ride an escalator right to the chair lift?

I have to agree with you completely! Beaver Creek is worth the 10 min drive past Vail. I lived in Avon for a season and if it weren't for the fact that it is so expensive to live ther I would probaly still be there to this day. the parks are fun and on a pow day you have a great time. The trees there are so much fun and if you happen to find some of the Jibs you can hav even more fun!
Ack! Escalators... as an architect, the base village at Beaver Creek totally creeps me out. It's like they took a cute little ski village and stretched it vertically without changing the proportions of the buildings - very bizarre.
But I've had a good time on that mountain. Plus, it's always funny to hear the tourists talk about how awesome the grooming is. I was at a conference there once and all of the people at my lunch table got in a discussion about how they always go to Beaver Creek because they groom twice a day, meaning they never had to go onto ungroomed snow ever. Which apparently they found to be awesome.

This I can agree with all of you on! I have had some of my best days at Beev Creek, always fresh Gnar Gnar in the trees... I have never had a bad day riding Beaver Creek!
The Pow at beaver creek tops any in colorado with such premiere tree runs you would have to be crazy or really dumb to not hit this place up!
