Keystone is by far the most ghetto resort in Summit County. People can argue with me all they want but it seriously is ghetto. Generally this resort sits in the sun really early in the morning but by mid day the sun has peaked the resort tossing it into the shadows. If Lake Dillon hasn't frozen over then they get less snow fall than all the other resorts in the county. The park sometimes has rhyme and reason other times it looks like they took a picture of it put it on a dart board slapped feature names on the darts and threw it at the picture. This resort is the true definition of the shit show. I do like that they get a solid preseason park up early and its fun as hell.

every resort has it's issues but when comparing keystone to other resorts in colorado, it's nasty. in a good way. i'm not going to write a novel here, it's just that simple.
also... vail resorts employees do have health insurance as long as they're full time. i'm an employee and the health insurance is actually pretty good.

As it was explained to me by my buddy on the park crew after the 3rd year as a seasonal full timer is when it's decent otherwise it's nothing spectacular and you're better off paying the 18 bucks a month to AFLAC to get accident insurance because it'll cover you up to 35,000.
I havent met the park crew down there but I doubt they are wasting space for no good reason. On the issue with the hip I have two comments. One, you dont know why they built it. They could have built it for a film crew that needed some hip shots. Two, you are speaking from hindsight. Maybe they had no good reason to build it besides the fact they thought it would be fun. Maybe it didnt work out... But hips are dope. Sounds to me like you dont know how to hit a hip.. maybe a little bitter? And with the pipe, again, who knows. They obviously had an idea they thought would be dope. I know our pipe sits on an East facing slope, so the North wall gets much more sun than the South one. Bad planning but we dont fault them for it. They do the best they can with what they have. Park crews are not perfect. You talk like it should be the easiest thing in the world to push a good pipe.. that alone gives away the fact that you have no idea what your talking about, I dont care how many super tight transitions you rode in the 90's, that doesnt give you any knowledge about building park. With the ads pulling passes... dude.. its a business they dont want people to think they can poach and get away with it. I think you need to relax. Enjoy snowboarding, dont worry about what other people say, dont blame the fact that you suck on the features, dont hate the park crew for doing their best to build a fun park. Just enjoy the sport, get over yourself and quit hating on everything.
thanks

Wow spoken like an ignorant twat that knows nothing about Summit County. Also have you ever ridden here?
First off I do know how to build a fucking park. They cut the snow too soon to rush the pipe and made it too tight. If they had let it sit through one more warm up and freeze cycle it would have compressed enough to not have the air pockets in it, that would have eliminated all the death holes in it. Second in order to widen the tranny's you need to cut it a few times. They need to go over to Breck or Copper and see how it's done to cut a pipe, you can't have 5 feet of flat and 12 feet of transition into 4 feet of vert. It just doesn't work. The only good thing is that the pipe faces directly into the sun all morning.
No the hip was never used by any film crews and I know that for a fact, it was leveled and pushed into the Launch jump for Snowboarder Magazine along with the half pipes. That hip was only 15 feet high and 25 feet long, nothing super big but it was a waste of snow. I've been hitting hips probably before you even tried to snowboard. Not that hard to do, possibly one of the easiest features to ride in a terrain park. It was a waste of man power, snow, and space.
Do you want me to start claiming what features I can and can't hit? Cause I'm pretty sure I know how to ride and probably do it more than most people.
Also the fact that they're placing adds that state 120 passes for fraud, and 700 plus for "wreckless" behavior is obsurd. Let alone the guy hit me in the knee with a ski pole twice. Want to talk about out of line? Yeah I can go on forever about this, but you don't live here so you're speaking out of your ass.

when did you build park? can you drive a cat? not talking just dragging.. pushing features in a cat. And I dont appreciate the name calling. doesnt work in your favor bud.
Your not living here and talking out your ass doesn't do anything for you either. Let alone trying to say I can't ride. You really shouldn't speak on something you know nothing about.
so by avoiding my question Im going to assume your saying you have never actually built park, or drove cat. in that case you would be the one talking out of your ass. And I am speaking on something I do actually know about. I was on park crew at moonlight basin. Building park is not a simple task. Until you have done it, you have absolutely no room to criticize others. they are doing their best. And if you really cant stand it.. if the park is really THAT freakin bad. then dont ride there. But you seem to be the only one complaining about it...
