I love this board!
it makes snowboarding so much easier... sometimes I feel like I am cheating haha. Seriously... I wish I had a board like this three years ago... it kinda feels like when I am about to catch an edge the board 'corrects' itself. If this makes any sense...

lemme know if you want to sell it when your done with it :) I know just the cat that can rock this board!
I have the Roxy Envi. The thing rides like glass. And here in the east, I've just started hitting the icy granular conditions with the warmer weather and the Envi turns on a dime. I love what Roxy has done with their boards. I heard that Gnu manufactured them.
Mervin (owned by quiksilver) makes GNU, Lib Tech and Roxy :) I highly recommend a mervin board to anyone.
I also love this board. Took a few days to adjust to and not super great for me in slush, but awesome in powder. It's also really fun to do manuals on, soft but I'm not all over the place in chop and beautiful for carving and steeps. It's also nice to have something that doesn't skid out on ice.
RachEden, glad to hear I'm not the only one who had trouble on slush with the MTX. Was at Killington this weekend and it carved beautifully where others where skidding on ice. I found it's achille's heel to also be the slush. I cut acroos "Bearly" to go watch the competitions and came to a dead standstill. Bearly ends up kind of on the southeastern side of Killington where the sun hits all day and on a 40 something degree day in Vermont, the consistency was like that of a slush puppie (Slurpee). Every doldrum (flat spot) I hit my board came to a stop. I dismantled and had to keep taking about 40 lbs. of built up slush ice off my board. I felt like a total moron because I ended up just giving up and taking my board off and walking once I could see the pipe. :-(~
I stayed away from that side of the mountain today! It was 51 degrees in Killi today.

what I noticed is that this board is not as fast [on the flats] as my Ride Fever DFC. That board is super fast...
The BTX ... not so much and when I was in Breck on a [bigger - 152] skate banana I didn't move at all... I blamed it on the size but maybe it's the way the the BTX's are shaped??
I had a similar problem last week in Creek's soup...but just managed to get through all slush/ soft snow/ water by trying to keep the nose up... riding on the tail..
Still, this board kicks ass :)

i'd blame it on the size, a 152 btx is way to big for you mascha. for your size and weight you need about a 142-144. i've got you by 6" in height and probably 30lbs in weight, and i ride a 154 btx. another thing to think about when it comes to speed is the temperature. different temperatures call for different wax. if you rode a new board, you got a winter wax, not a spring wax. that might have hurt your slush riding.
