There are a ton of great mountains in the US. I'm contemplating going to work and live at one. Which one is the best and why? I know there are a bunch of people who do this on Shred Union so give me the dish!
If you want to work in Europe, stay away from France and Switzerland if you're looking for work at a resort. It's a bitch for US citizens to get a work permit and from what I understand nearly impossible to become an instructor. Sounds silly, but instead of working at a resort, try chalet host or something of the sort, for one of the larger shred vacation companies out of the UK. They tend to look the other way when it comes to papers, as opposed to the resorts.

I almost feel ashamed saying that I work and live on Beech Mountain after everyone has posted about super awesome resorts out west... most people don't even realize that North Carolina even has ski resorts! haha. If our season was longer, it would be pretty rad! I love this lifestyle!

BEAR MOUNTAIN!

Bahahah! Negative. Bear Mountain sucks to work for. The season doesn't last long enough for you to pay for housing and live up there. PLUS you don't get a season pass, just an employee ID. You have to go get a ticket everyday you want to ride and they can straight up deny you and force you to work... this sucks after you work 2 weeks straight and just want one day to ride.

That blows reg Bear. I figured I'd trek out to Europe and see what working out here is like. Being a bartender is dope you work at night and ride during the day- if you wake up.. My shifts are 9/10/11pm till 4am so I'm usually wiped but you know when you live on the mtn, you ride whennnnnneveer you want.
Thing is, out here you only get a seasoner discount, you don't gget a lift pass bc the lifts are owned by one company and the mtn is public I believe and then each job is it's own owner or chain of restaurants /bars/ chalets have their own big owner in town. So there are no sweet mtn things like out west etc. No employee shred night. --- but they work on things among the dif. owners in town if your job is cool.
