Any one ever gone to Sugarbush? A friend is coming up with a group, wondering if it's worth the drive/paying for the lift ticket. What are some must-hit runs if you have gone?
I've been a few times, but its been a while so I can't recommend a particular run. It is a great mountain with good trails and tree runs. I would definitely recommend it.

I too haven't been in awhile... For a smaller mountain (s) combined with lincoln peak and mount ellen, you got 111 trails, 16 glades, and 2 terrain parks... A few runs that I remember are castlerock, jester, and slidebrook. Any day spent on any hill is worth it. Just ride bro and make the best out of the terrain... My last visit I spent 3/4 of the day riding powder filled backcountry--something like 2000 acres of unexplored territory. The longest run is somewhere around 2500 VF.
Our days are becoming numbered--rock the journey bro...

Yea i have a season pass at Okemo and live 2 minutes from the base so I'm out there whenever I can be - just trying to decide on if its worth leaving Okemo to head up there and actually pay for a ticket. the US Open is the Saturday that I was thinking about going to Sugarbush. That's over at Stratton, which is closer to me and featuring Shaun White et al. That'd be pretty cool to check out. Decisions, decisions.

All depends what you want to do. Saturday at the open will not be a good day to do much snowboarding, especially if you want to see the event. On the positive side the competition is great as is the atmosphere and Shiny Toy Guns as the after concert will be a good show too. If you come Saturday get there extremely early or you will be parking in town and be getting bussed in. If you really want a good riding day go to Sugarbush. If you want to ride and see some of the Open try to go on Friday. They will be having preliminaries in the pipe and you can usually get right up on the wall as opposed to Saturday when there is a lot more barricading around the pipe. Also the slope style is Friday. It should be a lot less crazy on Friday so you could see some competition and get some riding in as well.
