I'll be up there the 27th and 28th. Message here if you want to ride around. There should be plenty of snow for everyone.
it's now 26" in the past 24hrs. just added profile pic. how come the facebook didn't pick it up? always down to ride.
How much rain are we talking? I was there in he end of January when they got 2" of rain in 24 hours. Obviously the conditions were quite shite after that but surprisingly they were not unrideable. Okemo does have the grooming thing down to a science. I also discovered that riding in the rain isn't terrible. It keeps the mountain basically clear, softens the snow up and let's you test manufacturer claims on outerwear. Just bring an extra set of gloves.
it was misting when i left for work this morning, prob picked up a bit but the forecast says itll switch back to snow late tonight/early friday then snow through friday and saturday, hopefully making up for the rain. youre right about okemos grooming theyre ridiculously good at it - sucks when they ruin powder but its great when for awful conditions. i was out yesterday, built a ramp out of plowed snow and a kicker at the bottom of it, weather switched to rain while i was out there - my gear was soaked but i was dry, it passed the test. it shouldnt be anywhere near as bad as that rain storm in january, i just hope the trees are saved and they can stay 100% open
