Mt. Washington is the only resort on Vancouver Island. There is nothing particularly special about it, it has short runs and slow chairs. The weather seems to go to extremes each year, either there will be a year of amazing snowfall, or there will be no snow at all and you will be hitting rocks with your board until February like this year. The only real saving grace is the backside of the mountain accessed by the Boomerang chair. It's the only part of the mountain to offer any semblance of challenging riding and is fantastic on a powder day. The park is mediocre at best, with an average of 5 boxes and 6 jumps at any given time during the season it's nothing to brag about.

The mountain is a good beginners destination or great for the casual rider but offers no real challenge for those seeking out top notch riding
