Shred Union was dreamt up by three snowboarders in NYC in the dead heat of summer.

We set out to build this site with one purpose in mind: to create a kick-ass community that would help bring together all the different faces of the snowboarding world: riders, brands, shops, and resorts. We've handcrafted Shred Union with blood, sweat, tears, and days on end of work so that all of you could enjoy a place to think about riding; day or night, winter or summer. Whether you're in a cabin on the slopes, the suburbs, or deep in the concrete jungle. Beginner or expert, freerider or park rat, two snow days a season or 200. Ok, you get the point. This site is for all the riders out there.

This site is for you, the riders. Your support, your feedback, and your never-ending hunt for the next great carve or jib has put Shred Union on the map -- and we're just getting started. Enjoy the ride...

The Team

Andy

Andy is originally from New York, but now resides in South Bay, California! When he's not riding, he's keeping himself busy by finding places to hang out, meet new people, and just have a good time. Andy picked up snowboarding a few years back and fell in love with the adrenaline and also the camaraderie of just riding with different crews and friends. His biggest appreciation for the sport is that everyone has their own style, and way of expressing themselves on/off the mountain - which is the way it should be. He primarily freerides when not knocking children over coming off the chair lift and loves to make fresh tracks early in the AM. His most memorable boarding experience is riding in Laax/Flims, Switzerland where the mountains were just plain BIG.

He loves working with the Shred Union team and the drive to build an online community connecting ALL riders (you!). His role is to handle all areas of the product, projects, advertising, bizdev, and any ends that need tying up.

Lawrence

...was raised by monkeys until the age of twelve, when his monkey family's habitat was destroyed in a freak accident caused by the secret experiments of an occult techno-priesthood, who took the poor feral child in as one of their own and trained him in their dark arts. Which explains why he dreams about going "back to nature", but will get all technical in your face if you step to him. (He wrote all of the Javascript/HTML/CSS/Django/Python/MySQL code for the site and maintains its Ubuntu/Slicehost home. He also works for SkillSlate.)

Mascha

... loves the internet... and people... and snowboarding... Creating Shred Union with Andy and Lawrence was only logical. You can find her all over the internet; on blogs, vlogs, facespace and of course twitter just to name a few. She loves to talk. She loves to eat as well... which can be quite messy when you combine her food obsession with her non-stop talking habit. Some of her favorite words are majestic, glorious, whooohooo and whoa! If she's not on-line or snowboarding you can find her in the gym (to make up for her uncanny love for cupcakes and Ketel One) or coastin' the streets of New York City with her girls Sarah and Karine.

Karine

Karine likes to talk. She either doesn't talk at all or goes on for the long haul. In person, she'd be a ranter. But on the web, she makes for a really great writer due to her magnificent editing skills and her talented use of the backspace key. Imagine, someone who goes on and on for hours, being able to delete more than half of what they say because it really is crap and giving you just the good stuff. Well, Karine has figured out how to do that just for us. Anything for a good cause she said. She is all about everyone connecting who has that love for snow, that one love that we all know. Some things about Karine: she loves art, avocados, the three S's-, she is random, and, well, she is just a big 'ol dreamer. Enjoy her.
